Truxtun Capital SA [Truxtun] has become a member of the FIDO Alliance [FIDO] and announced it will operate the ‘Suite of Software’ in conformity with FIDO specifications and interoperable with other FIDO certified products.
The FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) Alliance, was formed in July 2012 to address the lack of interoperability among strong authentication technologies, and remedy the problems users face with creating and remembering multiple usernames and passwords.
FIDO is making that vision a reality -- providing a rich set of specifications that underpin a rapidly growing ecosystem of authentication servers and both biometric and hardware authentication solutions. This ecosystem enables service providers to easily deploy strong authentication solutions that reduce password dependencies and provide a superior, simpler and trusted user experience.
The Alliance plans to change the nature of authentication by developing standards-based specifications for simpler, stronger authentication that define an open, scalable, interoperable set of mechanisms that reduce reliance on passwords. FIDO authentication is stronger, private, and easier to use when authenticating to online services.
Truxtun is the first smart card company that plans to pass the FIDO Alliance's rigorous testing to achieve FIDO certification with its Wega AudioCard and 3DSA Strong Authentication Solutions. Its new payment system is scheduled to work with a certified open source FIDO authentication server and 3DSA FIDO Client IOS or Android applications that help to connect FIDO authenticators with the user’s mobile application.
The Wega AudioCard validated by MasterCard and 3DSA Authenticator Solutions are unlike any competition due to their broad array of security features, flexibility in adapting to transaction risks, simplicity of use, convenience to customers and ability to operate seamlessly with existing and emerging security technologies.
Truxtun is also reviewing how 3DSA Strong Authentication Solutions and FIDO authentication standards can support EMV payment use cases. Initial Truxtun activities will show how the Wega Card embedded sound technology and FIDO's authentication protocol can be used to support EMV cardholder verification technology and raise the security level for all transactions and remote payments. It's an experimentation that could have a substantial impact on security in financial services, especially with respect to consumer security.
The Wega AuDioCard want to be in the forefront of the combat against the daily fraud of purchasing card, a sector where 3DSA Authentication Solutions, based on the sophisticated authentication and to multiple factors, could prove strongly effective. For Truxtun Capital, technological challenges offer further evidence and validation of the company's growing credibility and importance in promoting and establishing 3DSA as a strong authentication standard who could prove strongly effective.
Truxtun is constantly looking for innovative ways to stimulate end-to-end experiences for users across platforms. Truxtun is convinced that the Wega AudioCard and 3DSA Authentication solutions as well as biometrics technologies form the bedrock for future authentication methods. This exploratory process may be in part a response to the financial services organizations, private business, governments and consumers.
A collaboration between different industry players like hardware, software and commerce is necessary to establish a set of industry standards for authentication.
FIDO standards are the answer to this cross-industry collaboration requirement as well as to the need for interoperability for service providers like Truxtun, retail banks and consumer electronics companies providing personal digital devices.
By joining the FIDO Alliance and launching its Wega AudioCard and 3DSA Authentication Solutions , Truxtun is demonstrating leadership innovation as it positions web and mobile commerce or banking globally for broad-scale deployment of industry standard FIDO authentication.
